The Pavilion
The magnificent pavilion at Holloway Hill, Busbridge Lane, Godalming was the culmination of five years work achieved by the main users of Holloway Hill at the time in conjunction with Waverley Borough Council. The Pavilion was officially opened just before Christmas 1998.
We boast first class facilities for players, officials and spectators, via our four comfortable changing rooms and excellent social facilities. There is provision for disabled users as well.
Besides supporting sport, community based activities take place during the weekdays in the social area which is also available for hire for functions and meetings. It is a community facility so we welcome enquiries around use and hires.
Sport at Holloway Hill
The pavilion really provides a big impetus for the development of sports in the area. Sport has been played at Holloway Hill since the 1880s and the facility represents an enormous opportunity to considerably enhance and improve sporting activities for the local community, particularly the development of sports opportunities for young people.
Various football teams use the recreation ground & it is the long term home of Godalming Cricket Club.
A tennis club, Busbridge Tennis Association, is now established. Most of the court time is still available for general public use, but a local tennis club provides coaching & tournaments for local people to improve the standard of tennis.
A superb bowls green is home to Holloway Hill Bowling Club.
New members to any of the clubs: cricket, football, tennis and bowls would be made very welcome.
Local Community
Alongside the sports clubs, we are also home to a recently refurbished and reimagined playground, the Brownies & Cubs, as well as one of the local boot camps, Surrey Fitness. Something for everyone!
Do drop in and say hello.
